Dianella European Luxury
THE BRIEF
This kitchen is the perfect blend of practicality and contemporary style. The client wanted a modern elevated kitchen design using luxury materials. It was imperative that we respected the European style of their home as well as utilise the existing ceilings.
THE PROJECT
The old kitchen was outdated and didn’t provide ample storage for the family. I utilised space from the adjacent Laundry by removing non-structural walls. I added a walk-in-linen and 3 pantries with internal drawers as well as a large integrated fridge and separate freezer.
THE OUTCOME
I simplified the colour palette by only using black Portofino veneer on the cabinetry to let the luxury Calacatta Vagli marble stand out as the hero. To create balance, I separated the overheads from the adjacent cabinetry allowing more visual space for the marble splashback.
To add interest through texture in the cabinetry I included ‘in-out’ panelling on the overheads and island bench. This also made the cabinetry feel more like pieces of furniture. The bench top material is in a suede finish to add further texture to the palette.
THE CLIENTS THOUGHTS
The client says it’s so easy to keep clean which was very important for her. Antique brass handles are the elegant jewellery on top of the moody colour palette.
